People have varying interests. In any given group of people you will find that they all like many different things. These are things they enjoy and like to do. Some watch movies, some listen to music and some like to work with their hands. When you are finding a hobby, using these likes and interests can help make it fun.

My definition of success is I do not define success by how much money one has, or how many friends one might know. To me success is being happy within. Waking up each morning, and being thankful for still being alive and healthy. Having a smile on your face instead of a frown, and making at least one stranger smile each day, by giving them a friendly ‘hello’. Remember, you just might be the only person that this person sees or talks to all day, so the next time you go to a supermarket, say ‘hello’ to someone. If they need help, then try to help them, and then walk on knowing you have made one person happy .

I enjoy each piece I create but of course some are more enjoyable than others. I created a piece using a wonderful porcelain Red Tail Hawk by Laura Mears. I had a beautiful cabochon of Imperial Jasper, which looked like the red rocks of southeastern Utah and a fire opal cut and polished by my grandfather. I combined the three items to create a piece titled “Fly Away”. It was in honor of my father who always said he wanted to come back as a Red Tail Hawk. My dad passed away in December of 2007 and this piece symbolized him rising from the desert as a Red Tail Hawk. It was a fairly simple piece, but it meant a lot to me.

(5.) Art Community preps for Christmas with local arts and crafts festival – Take time to draw, build, act, design or create. You could design a Roman mosaic, sketch an insect’s genetic makeup, build a temple from clay or LEGOs, create a tapestry to illustrate the unit that you’re studying (felt shapes work for quick tapestries when needlepoint takes way too long), or paint the flowers that you’re learning about.

Parents often resort to scrap booking when they wanted to personalize their photos. Aside from that, scrap booking is also resorted by parents to keep the artworks, cards, letters and other vital stuffs that their children are giving them. Hence, they preserve the memories and materials without getting overwhelmed. With a scrapbook around, you can do away with memorabilia boxes and other hefty packages.

So go ahead and strap on those wings! And if you get too close to the sun and your wings begin to melt, just throw down some yarn and fabric to cushion your fall.
